Un implante dental en tres piezas: implante, pilar y corona

The same dental implant costs €900 in one clinic and €2,500 in the one across the street. Both use titanium and both promise a guarantee. If you have a quote and do not know whether it is expensive, here is the real price per tooth in Spain, why it varies so much, what the Spanish public health system does and when it is worth leaving Spain.

A dental implant with crown costs between €1,400 and €2,500 in Spain, with an average of around €1,650. The implant alone (the screw) costs €300–800; the abutment and zirconia crown add €500–900. The Seguridad Social, Spain’s public health system, does not cover implants or dentures. In Tbilisi (Georgia) the same treatment costs from €629 (£540 / $730) with a zirconia crown, and from €1,258 (£1,080 / $1,450) with Straumann®, with a fixed price before you travel.

Price of a dental implant in Spain: the real figure

A complete implant (implant, abutment and crown) costs on average €1,640 in 2026, within a range of €900 to €2,500 per tooth, according to cuantomecuesta.com (April 2026). With a zirconia crown the usual figure is €1,400–1,800; with a premium brand and an e.max crown it goes above €2,500.

Dentaly Spain (23 April 2025) gives €900–1,300 without saying whether the crown is included. Adverts for “implants from €490” mean the screw; the full set rarely comes in under €1,200. The Tbilisi price list is on dental implant prices 2026.

What the price includes and what is charged separately

A complete quote should include the implant, the abutment, the final crown, surgery under local anaesthetic and the first year’s check-ups. The CT scan, the temporary tooth, bone grafting and sinus lift are charged separately in many clinics; ask in writing before you sign.

Item Included? Range in Spain
Implant (screw) Yes €300–800
Abutment Almost always €100–350
Final crown Sometimes separate €200–700
Surgery Usually €200–500 if charged separately
3D CT scan (CBCT) Varies €0–150
Bone graft No from €646
Sinus lift No around €956

Ranges from cuantomecuesta.com (April 2026). The temporary tooth is quoted separately.

Price per part: implant, abutment and crown separately

Part by part, the implant costs €300–450 for a budget brand and €500–800 for Straumann® or Nobel Biocare®. The abutment costs €100–200 as standard and €250–350 custom-made. The crown ranges from €200–350 in metal-ceramic to €400–550 in zirconia and €500–700 in e.max.

The best seller in Spain sits in the middle: a mid-range brand (BTI, Zimmer, Osstem) with a zirconia crown for €1,400–1,800. Metal-ceramic does the job on molars; on a visible tooth, zirconia is worth the difference.

Why an implant costs three times as much at another clinic

The difference comes down to four things: the implant brand, who places it, the city and the business model. None of them guarantees a better result on its own, but you pay for all of them, just as you pay for the financing hidden in the price.

  • Brand. A Straumann® costs the clinic almost twice as much as a budget implant.
  • Surgeon. A specialist with a master’s degree in implantology charges more than a general dentist.
  • City. Madrid and Barcelona charge 10–15% above the average; the coast and Andalusia, somewhat less.
  • Chain versus independent clinic. Chains advertise low entry prices and recover their margin with extras. Always ask what it would cost if you paid in full up front.

Prices by city 2026: Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Málaga

In Madrid an implant with crown costs €1,100–2,500 and in Barcelona €1,200–2,400, against €900–1,800 in Valencia and €850–1,700 in Seville, according to cuantomecuesta.com (April 2026). In Málaga, published price lists run from €1,089 to €1,880.

City Implant with crown Published price lists (examples)
Madrid €1,100–2,500 Clínica de Postgrados Universitarios €1,348; Clínica Santa Elena €2,146
Barcelona €1,200–2,400 Dr. Mikel Florit, implant + crown from €899 (offer)
Valencia €900–1,800 Sthèl Clínica (Alzira) €1,287
Seville €850–1,700 No verified price list
Málaga €1,089–1,880 Clínica Dental Las Chapas €1,089

Clinic prices according to SaludOnNet and Masquemedicos, consulted on 18 October 2026. They do not specify the brand or the CT scan.

How much does it cost to fix the whole mouth? All-on-4 and full rehabilitation

A full arch on four implants (All-on-4) costs between €6,500 and €13,000 in Spain, with a typical price of around €10,800; both arches, €13,000–26,000. Cuantomecuesta.com gives €5,000–14,000 per arch and Dentaly Spain between €4,000 and €12,000.

With several missing teeth, All-on-4 works out cheaper than six or eight single implants; if you still have healthy teeth, a fixed bridge may be better and cheaper. The Tbilisi price (€3,890 per arch, £3,340 / $4,500) is on All-on-4 in Georgia. If the problem is the front teeth, look first at veneers and crowns (€400–800 per veneer in Spain).

Does the Seguridad Social cover dental implants?

No. The common service portfolio of the Sistema Nacional de Salud, Spain’s public health service, expressly excludes dental implants and dentures, except for cases that fall under the orthoprosthetic benefit. For an adult, public healthcare covers extractions, emergencies and minor oral surgery, and little else.

The rule in force is Order SND/606/2024 of 13 June, which extended cover to children aged 0 to 14, pregnant women, people with disabilities and cancer patients. PADI is the children’s dental programme run by each autonomous region (Basque Country, ages 7–15); nothing to do with implants.

For older people there are one-off grants for dentures, not for implants: the regional government of Andalusia announced, by Order of 20 May 2026, subsidies for over-65s on low incomes, up to €600 (details of the call, 2026). There are no “free dental implants”; the closest thing is the implantology master’s programme at the University of Granada, at a reduced cost.

Dental insurance (Adeslas, Sanitas, DKV): a discount, not cover

No dental insurance in Spain pays for the implant. Adeslas, Sanitas and DKV, the big Spanish private health insurers, offer a “franchised price”, that is, a lower negotiated rate only at the clinics in their network (the cuadro médico). The real saving is between €200 and €600 per complete implant; you pay the rest.

With published figures: Sanitas Dental Milenium charges €780 for the implant against €1,014.50 without insurance, and €510 for the zirconia crown against €664.50, plus the abutment (sanitas.es, 18 October 2026); in total, €1,739.90 against €2,263.90. With Adeslas, Dentaly recorded €1,315 against €1,910 (16 August 2024).

Cheap dental implants: where the catch is

An implant for €490 can be honest if it is only the screw and the clinic says so. The catch appears when the advert suggests a finished tooth and the final quote comes to €1,500 with abutment, crown and CT scan. Four things to check:

  1. Is the crown there? If it is not listed with its price, you are being sold the screw alone.
  2. Which brand is it, and is there an implant passport? Without a brand and batch number, nobody will be able to repair it at another clinic.
  3. Is there a CT scan before surgery? Without one, the risk of touching a nerve or the sinus goes up.
  4. Is there a written guarantee? How many years, what it covers and what happens if the clinic closes.

Financing: what paying in instalments really costs

Financing through the clinic costs a 3 to 6% surcharge over twelve months, even when advertised as “interest-free”, and 10 to 25% over five years with a personal loan. On a €10,800 All-on-4 that is up to €2,700 more.

Adeslas Dental advertises 12 months at 0% nominal interest and 5.78% APR: €1,500 in 12 instalments of €125 plus a €45 fee (adeslasdental.es, 18 October 2026). The Cofidis dental loan (9.99% APR) charges €2,615.78 in interest on €10,000 over five years (Kelisto, 2026). Ask for the APR and the total in writing.

How long does an implant last and what happens if it fails?

A well-placed, well-cared-for implant lasts decades; the crown is usually replaced after 10–15 years. The most frequent cause of long-term failure is peri-implantitis, an infection of the gum and bone around the implant.

Guarantees in Spain run from 2 to 10 years for the implant and 2 to 5 for the crown, always subject to check-ups. If it fails to integrate in the first few months, the clinic usually replaces it at no cost; after five years you pay unless the guarantee says otherwise. The Tbilisi guarantee is on dental implants in Georgia.

Is it worth going abroad? Tbilisi versus Spain, with numbers

For a single implant, almost never. For an All-on-4 or several teeth, the saving is €5,000 to €12,000 after paying for flights and hotel. As a rule, travel when the treatment would cost more than €5,000 in Spain. Below that, the trip eats the saving.

Treatment Spain (typical) Tbilisi Travel Left in your pocket
Single implant with zirconia crown €1,650 €629 (£540 / $730); €1,258 (£1,080 / $1,450) with Straumann® around €800 (10 days) around €200 or nothing
All-on-4, one arch €10,800 €3,890 (£3,340 / $4,500) €1,300 (3 weeks) €5,610
All-on-4, both arches €21,600 €7,780 (£6,680 / $9,000) €1,300 (3 weeks) €12,520

The Tbilisi price includes the CT scan, surgical guide, Straumann® or Bredent® implants, surgery, final crowns or bridge, transfers, a coordinator and an implant passport. Grafting, sedation, flights and hotel are quoted separately.

There is a direct Madrid–Tbilisi flight with Wizz Air, about 5 hours 15 minutes, twice a week (1TV Georgia, 29 April 2025). Return fare €300–500; no visa needed. In any country, insist on a fixed quote that names the implant brand, find out how many trips are needed and ask who deals with a complication once you are home. Test your own figures in the implant cost calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a dental implant cost in Spain on average?

Around €1,650 for a complete implant with a zirconia crown, within a range of €1,400 to €2,500. With a metal-ceramic crown and a budget brand it drops to €900–1,600; with Straumann® or Nobel Biocare® and an e.max crown it goes above €2,500.

What does the price of a dental implant include?

It should include the implant, the abutment, the final crown, surgery under local anaesthetic and the first year’s check-ups. Ask about the CT scan, the temporary tooth, extractions and bone grafting, which many clinics quote separately. If the price is very low, confirm that it includes the crown.

Does the Seguridad Social cover dental implants?

No. Order SND/606/2024 expressly excludes dental implants and dentures from the common portfolio, except for orthoprosthetic cases. Public healthcare covers extractions, emergencies and minor surgery for adults, and check-ups, sealants and fillings up to age 14. Some regions give grants for dentures to older people.

Does Adeslas or Sanitas dental insurance pay for the implant?

It does not pay for it. It makes it cheaper with a franchised price at the clinics in its network. Sanitas Dental Milenium lists the implant at €780 instead of €1,014.50 and the zirconia crown at €510 instead of €664.50; the whole comes to around €1,740.

Are cheap dental implants reliable?

They can be, if the price is transparent. Insist that the quote names the implant brand, includes the crown and the CT scan, and carries a written guarantee. Be wary of “from” prices without a breakdown and of brands with no traceability. University clinics are a cheap and serious option.

Is it worth going abroad for an implant?

For a single one, almost never: in Tbilisi it costs €629 (£540 / $730) with crown, but the trip takes almost all of the saving. From three teeth upwards, or for an All-on-4 (€3,890 per arch against around €10,800 in Spain), the saving is over €5,000 with the trip already deducted.

The short version

  • An implant with crown costs €1,400–2,500 in Spain (average €1,650); the “€490” adverts do not include the crown.
  • The Seguridad Social does not cover implants; dental insurance only takes €200–600 off.
  • Travelling pays from €5,000 of treatment: an All-on-4 in Tbilisi costs €3,890 (£3,340 / $4,500) per arch and leaves you around €5,600 after the trip. For a single implant, stay in Spain.
