“Is it cheaper to get dental implants abroad?” is the wrong question; of course the implant is cheaper. The right question is whether it is still cheaper after the flights, the hotel, twelve days of meals and the time off work, and for which treatments. Here is the arithmetic, done honestly, with our own Tbilisi prices and UK private prices side by side.
The short answer: for implants, All-on-4 and a full set of veneers the saving survives every trip cost with room to spare; for a single crown or a filling it does not, and we will tell you so. The cost calculator runs the same sums for your own case and currency.

ToggleWhat a trip actually costs
Every comparison below uses the same trip budget, deliberately generous:
- Flights: £300 return, London to Tbilisi direct (real fares run £200–£400).
- Hotel: £60 a night in a three- or four-star hotel near the clinic (real range £40–£80).
- Food and getting around: £25 a day. Airport pickup and clinic transfers are included in our plans, so no taxis.
- Stay length: whatever the treatment needs, from the price list.
So a 10-day trip is about £1,150, a 14-day trip about £1,490, and a 7-day trip about £900. Time off work is yours to add; most patients take it as annual leave, and implant surgery needs two or three rest days, not two weeks in bed.

Single implant: the saving is real but modest
One implant with a zirconia crown is £540 in Tbilisi and £1,800–£3,500 privately in the UK. Add a 10-day trip and the total is about £1,690. Against the cheapest UK quote you save around £100; against a typical London quote of £2,800 you save £1,100. Worth it if you were going anyway, or if you have two or three implants to place; on its own, a single implant is the least compelling case for travelling, and we say so on the single implants page.
All-on-4: where the numbers change
One All-on-4 arch is £3,340 in Tbilisi with Straumann or Bredent implants, the surgical guide and the fixed bridge included. The UK private range is £8,000–£18,000. Add a 14-day trip: £4,830 all-in. Against the bottom of the UK range you save £3,170; against the middle (£13,000) you save £8,170, or 63 percent, after paying for the trip.
Both arches (a full-mouth restoration) is £6,680 in Tbilisi against £16,000–£28,000 at home. With the trip: £8,170, a saving of £7,800–£19,800. This is the treatment that the whole dental-tourism industry is built on, and the numbers show why.
Veneers and crowns: it depends on how many
An E.max veneer or zirconia crown is £213 in Tbilisi; UK private prices are £600–£1,200 per veneer and £700–£1,200 per crown. One crown plus a 7-day trip is £1,113: more than the crown at home, so do not travel for one crown. Eight veneers plus a 10-day trip is £2,854 against £4,800–£9,600: a saving of £1,900–£6,700. The crossover is around four teeth; below that the trip eats the saving, above it the saving grows with every tooth. The veneers and crowns page has the per-tooth prices.
What is included, and what is not
The Tbilisi prices above include the implant, abutment, surgery, surgical guide, temporary and final restoration, the scans, the coordinator, airport pickup and clinic transfers. They do not include flights, hotel or food, which is why this article adds them. UK quotes often exclude the CBCT scan (£100–£250), the temporary teeth and the follow-ups, so check both sides before comparing.
The costs people forget
- A second trip. Some plans need a short return visit for the final bridge; if yours does, add another £600–£900 and it will say so in the written plan.
- Repairs. A guarantee that covers the implant is common; one that covers the bridge and the bond matters more, because that is what fails. Ask what is repaired, where and who pays the flight.
- Home follow-up. A hygiene visit in the UK every six months, £60–£100, is the same whether the implants were placed in Tbilisi or Tunbridge Wells.

Frequently asked questions
Is it cheaper to get dental implants abroad once you add the trip?
For All-on-4 and full-mouth work, yes by £3,000–£20,000. For a single implant, only marginally. For a single crown, no.
Why are dental implants cheaper abroad?
Lower salaries, rents and laboratory costs in Georgia. The implants themselves are the same Swiss and German brands at the same import price; the saving is in everything around them.
Does travel insurance cover the treatment?
No policy covers elective dental work or its complications. The clinic’s written guarantee is what covers you; read it before booking.
Can I pay in instalments?
A written fixed price lets you arrange finance at home before you travel. There is no deposit to get the plan and the price.
The short version
- Budget £900–£1,500 for the trip and add it to every comparison.
- Implants and All-on-4 save £3,000–£20,000 after trip costs; a single crown saves nothing.
- Compare like with like: all-in Tbilisi prices against UK quotes that often exclude scans and temporaries.
Send a 3D scan on WhatsApp and you get a written, all-in price to put next to your UK quote. Free, no deposit, and we will tell you if travelling is not worth it for your case.
