A dental vacation sounds like a contradiction until you have seen one on a calendar: three days that belong to the surgeon, ten that belong to you, and a city that happens to be good at both. This is what a typical two-week All-on-4 trip to Tbilisi looks like, day by day. It is an illustration built from how our plans are scheduled, not a patient’s record; your own plan will move things by a day or two.

ToggleBefore you fly
Everything clinical is already decided. You sent a CBCT scan on WhatsApp, a surgeon wrote a plan (upper All-on-4 on Bredent implants, four extractions, fixed temporary bridge), and you have a fixed price of £3,340 and a written stay length of 14 days. Flights are booked around that, not before it. The coordinator has your hotel, your transfer and your allergies.
Day 0: arrival
Landed, met at arrivals, driven to a hotel ten minutes from the clinic. Nothing else today except dinner, which in Tbilisi is worth the flight on its own. Early night; the first appointment is tomorrow morning.
Day 1: consultation and scan
Examination with the surgeon who wrote your plan, a CBCT in the clinic if yours was older than six months, photos, an intraoral scan, and a conversation about the bite and the shade of the new teeth. The plan is confirmed and the treatment agreement signed with the final price. Afternoon free; a walk along Rustaveli Avenue, an early dinner, nothing to eat after midnight.

Day 2: surgery
Extractions and four guided implants under IV sedation, about three hours in the chair. You remember little of it. A companion or the coordinator takes you back to the hotel by early afternoon: ice, painkillers, soup, sleep. The temporary bridge is being made from the scan taken of the implants as placed.
Day 3: rest and check
Swelling is at its worst, which is expected. A short check at the clinic, then back to bed with soft food. This is the day to have downloaded the films.
Day 4: teeth
The fixed temporary bridge is screwed onto the implants and adjusted for bite. You walk out with teeth that do not come out. Soft food still, but you can smile at the waiter.
Days 5–7: gentle city
Swelling is fading. The old town, the Narikala cable car, the Dry Bridge market, the sulphur bath district (looking, not bathing yet). Meals are soft but Georgian: lobio, kharcho, khinkali without the pinch, matsoni. No wine yet; the antibiotics finish on day seven.
Day 8: check-up
Stitches out if they have not dissolved, bridge checked, hygiene instructions for cleaning under it. Cleared for a day trip.

Days 9–11: the vacation part
Kakheti for a day, the wine region two hours east: Sighnaghi’s walls, a monastery, a first careful glass. Mtskheta, the old capital, for a morning. A sulphur bath now, if you like the idea. The bridge is comfortable and you have stopped thinking about it, which is the point.
Day 12: final check
Last adjustment of the bridge, X-ray to record the implants, the aftercare protocol explained, and the documents handed over: implant passports, scans, the plan, the invoice, the guarantee. The plan says whether the final bridge is made on a short second visit after healing or completed here; you already knew that from the written plan before you booked.
Day 13: spare
Built in on purpose. If day 12 needed a follow-up, it happens now; if not, it is a free day and a last dinner.
Day 14: home
Transfer to the airport, five hours to London or 2.5 to Tel Aviv. Soft food for the rest of the first month, a photo to the coordinator at two weeks, a hygienist at three months. The aftercare guide covers the rest.
What it cost
Treatment £3,340 all-in. Flights around £300, hotel 14 nights around £840, food and extras around £350: roughly £4,800 for the trip and a new upper arch, against £8,000–£18,000 for the arch alone in the UK. The full arithmetic is in dental tourism cost savings, fully costed.
Frequently asked questions
How long is a dental vacation for All-on-4?
10–14 days for one arch with immediate loading; two arches fit in the same window. Single implants need 7–10 days, veneers 8–10.
Can I sightsee after implant surgery?
Gently from day five, properly from day eight. The first three days are for rest.
Do I need a companion?
For sedation day, yes, and it makes the first three days easier. Hotels are booked as doubles at no extra cost.
Is the timeline the same for everyone?
No. This is an illustration; your written plan sets your own days, including whether a second short visit is needed for the final bridge.
The short version
- Three clinical days, a rest day, then ten days that are mostly yours.
- Teeth on day four; sightseeing from day five; wine after the antibiotics.
- About £4,800 for the trip and an All-on-4 arch, all in.
