Veneers, crowns and the “Turkey teeth” problem
A veneer is a thin shell bonded to the front of a tooth; a crown covers the whole tooth. Veneers need little or no reshaping and suit colour, chips, gaps and shape. Crowns need the tooth reduced on every side and are for teeth that are heavily filled, cracked, root-treated or on an implant.
- What “Turkey teeth” often are. Full crowns fitted to healthy teeth, each filed down to a peg so a thick cap can sit over it.
- Why it matters. That reshaping is permanent and can lead to sensitivity, nerve damage and root canals later.

Veneers and crowns are usually completed within about ten days in Tbilisi, because they are milled in our own lab.

What is the difference between veneers and crowns?
A veneer is a thin shell bonded to the front of a tooth and needs little reshaping. A crown covers the entire tooth and needs it to be reduced on all sides. Veneers suit cosmetic changes to healthy teeth; crowns protect teeth that are damaged, heavily filled or root-treated.
Will you file my teeth down?
Only as much as your result requires. Veneers usually need minimal preparation, sometimes none. We do not crown healthy teeth purely for cosmetic reasons, because that reshaping is irreversible and causes problems later.
How long do e.max veneers last?
Well-made e.max® veneers commonly last ten to fifteen years or longer with good care. Avoid using your teeth as tools, wear a night guard if you grind, and keep up regular check-ups and hygiene.
What is a Hollywood smile?
It is a marketing term for a full set of veneers or crowns across the visible teeth, usually in a very bright shade. We can create that look, but we will recommend a shade and shape that suits your face, and veneers rather than crowns wherever your teeth are healthy.
How long do I need to stay for veneers?
About ten days. That covers consultation and smile design, preparation, in-house milling and a final fitting with shade and bite adjustments, all in one trip.
