Is it worth getting dental implants abroad?
It depends almost entirely on the size of your treatment plan. For a single implant, often not: flights and a hotel eat most of the saving. For several implants or a full arch, the difference runs to thousands of pounds. A full mouth on All-on-4 is £6,680 in Tbilisi against a typical £16,000–£28,000 privately in the UK.
- The country is rarely the problem. What decides the outcome is the implant system, the surgeon and whether the timetable leaves room for healing.
- Most horror stories share a cause. Rushed trips and unbranded components, not travelling itself.

They can be, and the risk rarely comes from the country. Problems cluster around trips too short for healing, unbranded implants and treatment by unnamed staff. Choose a recognised implant system, a named licensed surgeon and a timetable that allows the gums and bone to heal.

Is it worth getting dental implants abroad?
For several implants or a full arch, usually yes: the saving comfortably covers flights and a two to three week stay. For a single implant with no other treatment, flights and a hotel can absorb most of the saving, so it is often not worth travelling for one tooth alone.
Where is the best place to get dental implants abroad?
Georgia, Turkey, Hungary, Poland and Albania are all cheaper than the UK. The better question is which clinic, not which country: the implant brand, the surgeon and the protocol matter far more than the flag. We think Georgia offers an unusually good balance of price, quality and a calmer pace of treatment.
Why are dental implants cheaper abroad?
Mostly labour, premises and insurance. A Straumann® fixture costs a Tbilisi clinic roughly what it costs a London one: it is the same component from the same manufacturer. What differs is staff salaries, rent and professional indemnity.
Which implant brand should I choose?
Choose a brand with long-term published data and parts available worldwide, so a dentist at home can service it if ever needed. Straumann® has the longest track record; Bredent®, B&B Dental® and NTA® offer good value for single implants. For full arches we place Straumann® or Bredent® only.
How long do I need to stay abroad for dental implants?
Plan two to three weeks for full-arch treatment such as All-on-4, and about ten days for single implants or veneers. Some single implants need a second, shorter visit once the implant has fused with the bone.
