What is a full mouth dental implant restoration?
A full mouth restoration rebuilds both the upper and lower arch in a single treatment plan. Most cases use All-on-4 or All-on-6 in each jaw: four or six implants carrying a fixed bridge of teeth. Teeth that cannot be saved are removed in the same surgery, so the whole mouth is treated at once rather than tooth by tooth over years.
- One plan, one bite. Upper and lower teeth are designed together so they meet correctly, chew properly and last.
- One set of scans. A single CT scan and, where possible, one surgical session for both jaws.
- Fixed teeth. No removable plates, no adhesive, and the implants help preserve the jawbone.

It is one of the most searched questions about full mouth implants, and the answer in almost every case is no. That is why so many UK patients look abroad.
Implants are not routinely funded
NHS dentistry covers dentures and bridges, not implant treatment.

What is the cheapest way to replace all your teeth?

Is full mouth restoration painful?
Surgery is performed under local anaesthetic, and sedation is available if you prefer. Expect swelling and tenderness for several days afterwards, managed with ordinary painkillers. Most patients are eating soft food within a day or two.
All-on-4 or All-on-6 for a full mouth?
Many full-mouth cases use All-on-4 in each jaw. All-on-6 adds support where the bite is heavy or the bone is softer, often in the upper jaw, and some patients have four implants in one arch and six in the other. Your surgeon decides from your CT scan.
